Taking a Closer Look at Your Water
What's in your Tap?
Tap water might seem harmless—but often, it’s anything but. From chemical disinfectants to organic matter, rust, sediment, and even trace pharmaceuticals, the water you use every day could be slowly impacting your health.
At Wellness Magnified, we believe you deserve to know what’s in your water—and how to protect yourself.
Why Water Filtration Matters
Clean water is essential for health, home appliances, and overall peace of mind. But not all filtration systems are created equal — and neither are the contaminants they target. Understanding what’s in your water helps you choose the right filtration media to protect your family and property.
The Link Between Water Contaminants & Illness
Prolonged exposure to contaminated water has been linked to various health issues, including:
-
Skin irritation & eczema
-
Hormonal disruption
-
Reproductive issues
-
Neurological effects in children
-
Certain cancers (especially bladder, colon, and breast)
-
Chronic inflammation and immune system stress
Clean water isn’t a luxury—it’s a health essential.
What’s Really in Tap Water?
Many municipal water systems meet federal guidelines, but that doesn’t mean the water is clean or safe. Common contaminants include:
-
Chlorine & chloramines
-
Fluoride
-
VOCs (volatile organic compounds)
-
Pesticides & herbicides
-
Heavy metals (lead, arsenic, mercury)
-
Microplastics
-
Bacteria & organic matter
-
Pharmaceuticals & hormones
And it gets worse if your home has old pipes, rust, or scale buildup.

Our Filtration Philosophy: Multi-Stage, Custom Solutions
Our Filtration Philosophy: Multi-Stage, Organic, Custom Solutions
At Rock Water Purification, we believe that clean water requires more than a one-size-fits-all approach. Our systems are built on a multi-stage, organic filtration philosophy, using carefully selected media blends tailored to the unique contamination profiles of each water source. One of our most powerful components is Katalox Lite®, an advanced filtration media made from natural zeolite coated with manganese dioxide. This high-surface-area media works within seconds to remove a wide range of contaminants, including iron, manganese, hydrogen sulfide (rotten egg odor), arsenic, heavy metals, and radionuclides. Unlike traditional filters, Katalox Lite operates at rapid flow rates and maintains essential minerals, making it a cornerstone of our custom purification solutions.

One of the key components we integrate into our systems is KDF 55, a high-efficiency filtration media made from a copper-zinc alloy. Through a powerful redox reaction, KDF 55 works instantly to reduce chlorine, chloramines, and harmful heavy metals like lead, mercury, and nickel. It also helps inhibit bacterial and fungal growth within the filter itself, keeping the system clean and extending its performance life. Unlike chemical treatments, KDF 55 is eco-friendly, fast-acting, and enhances the overall effectiveness of other filtration stages—making it a crucial part of delivering safer, fresher water without compromising mineral content or sustainability.

Another essential layer in our multi-stage systems is Catalytic Carbon, an enhanced form of activated carbon specifically engineered for the reduction of chloramines, chlorine, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and disinfection byproducts such as trihalomethanes (THMs). Unlike standard carbon, Catalytic Carbon has a modified surface structure that significantly boosts its reactivity—allowing it to break down stubborn chemical bonds quickly and effectively. It excels in improving taste, odor, and overall water clarity, while also preserving the healthy minerals your body needs. Because it performs without the use of harsh chemicals or additives, Catalytic Carbon is a clean, reliable, and long-lasting solution for enhancing water quality in both municipal and well water systems.

To support the overall efficiency and flow dynamics of our systems, we include Garnet, a naturally occurring, high-density filtration media. Garnet plays a vital role in the mechanical filtration process, targeting fine sediment, rust, sand, and other particulate matter that can clog or overload finer media layers. Thanks to its weight and uniform granule size, Garnet provides excellent filtration down to 10–20 microns, ensuring longer contact time for deeper purification in subsequent stages. Its durability and low attrition rate make it an ideal base or support layer in multi-media filters, contributing to both system longevity and consistent water pressure—all without altering the mineral balance of your water.

For targeted reduction of specific and persistent contaminants, we utilize Activated Alumina, a highly porous, adsorptive filtration media made from aluminum oxide. It is especially effective at reducing fluoride, arsenic, selenium, and radium, making it a critical component for areas where these toxins are naturally present in groundwater. Activated Alumina works through adsorption, capturing contaminants on its extensive surface area as water passes through—without stripping beneficial minerals. This media is regenerable, long-lasting, and NSF-certified, offering a reliable, chemical-free solution for serious water concerns while supporting our commitment to clean, safe, and mineral-rich drinking water.
